Editing a GIF frame by frame

A GIF is a sequence of still images played in order. This tool pulls one apart frame by frame so you can delete unwanted moments, reorder them, adjust the delay between frames to change the playback speed, and re-export a new GIF.

How to use it

  1. Load a GIF and review the frame list.
  2. Delete frames you do not need or drag to reorder them.
  3. Adjust the delay and export a new GIF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a GIF smaller?
Cutting frames or reducing the dimensions helps most. GIF is capped at 256 colours, so frame count drives file size more than colour depth does.
How do I change the playback speed?
Lower the frame delay to speed it up, raise it to slow it down. Most browsers clamp very short delays to a minimum value.
